Welcome!
Hello! I’m Aysha (they/them). I am a queer mixed Arab Palestinian and white settler with Muslim and Jewish roots. I have a background in community-based and social justice oriented work, and have been practicing psychotherapy since 2020.
I offer politicized and body oriented talk therapy, drawing from Somatic Experiencing, polyvagal, EMDR, attachment-based, and parts work. Together we will learn about and work with the nervous system as a way to practice cultivating a safer and more responsive relationship to sensations, impulses, behaviours, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs.
I take an active, compassionate, playful, and collaborative approach that centers safety, connection, respect, and choice. I am committed to abolition and the liberation of all, and I aim to ground my work in anti-oppressive and transformative justice politics. Part of what this looks like, in practice, is moving away from shameful, punishing, and often carceral ways of relating to ourselves and our experiences, and moving toward more generosity and curiosity.
Outside of therapy I am typically hanging out with pals, eating snacks, watching reality TV, organizing (in the community sense of the word), or bouldering.
